World View and Rainforest Partnership Team Up to Protect One of the World's Greatest Wonders
World View, a space tourism company, has partnered with Rainforest Partnership, a non-profit organization focused on protecting rainforests, to support indigenous and local-led forest conservation projects in Peru and Ecuador. In celebration of World Rainforest Day, World View announced that it will donate five percent of all sales from its forthcoming Amazonia merchandise line to Rainforest Partnership.
The partnership aims to provide new perspectives and appreciation for tropical rainforests and their integral role in regulating the Earth's climate. World View CEO, Ryan Hartman, said the company is "committed to identifying ways to share new perspectives that encourage the preservation of our planet."
As part of the 2022 World Rainforest Day Global Summit, Hartman will host a virtual fireside chat with environmentalist and actor, Adrian Grenier, to discuss how companies can focus on corporate social responsibility while supporting awareness about Earth's resources and contributing to healing the planet. Grenier serves as World View's Chief Earth Advocate and supports the organization's mission to inspire Earth activism.
The Summit emphasizes the need for immediate action and impact to achieve net zero deforestation by 2030. The events include panel discussions, workshops, and film screenings focused on conservation, community engagement, innovative technology, finance, youth climate action, storytelling, sustainable business/corporate social responsibility, ecotourism, and ecology. All events are free and open to the public, and registration is available on the World Rainforest Day website. The CEO of Rainforest Partnership, Niyanta Spelman, said the organization is "grateful for support that helps us create long-term, sustainable rainforest protection and restoration as part of our direct work with Amazonian indigenous and local communities."
