Adrian Grenier’s Latest Role? Chief Earth Officer for a Space Tourism Start-Up

April 18, 2022

Adrian Grenier, the actor best known for his role on the TV series "Entourage," has taken on a new role as Chief Earth Advocate for space tourism startup, World View. The company is developing a space balloon and capsule that will launch tourists into space.

Unlike other celebrities who have participated in space tourism, Grenier will have a titled role, which includes forging relationships with other sustainability-focused organizations and greeting travelers when they return to terra firma, connecting them with individuals and partner organizations to turn their newfound appreciation for the planet into action.

The balloon trips will take approximately six to twelve hours and travel to an altitude of approximately 100,000 feet, enabling tourists to see the darkness of space, the stars and the curvature of the Earth.

The company has also released the layout for its redesigned space capsule, which has large windows, food and beverage service, a telescope, and live-streaming options.

Grenier's interest in World View comes from an impulse to help “to push humanity forward,” he says. He has a long-standing interest in the environment and has started a sustainability company, Shft. Grenier hopes to find ways to be carbon-neutral and environmentally sound, including upcycling material from the balloons to build greenhouses on his farm.
